With an education in graphic design, you might create motion graphics for social media,
develop campaigns for your favorite brands, or even animate video games and movies.
SCC offer three associate degrees in graphic design and four certificates, setting
you up for success in a bachelor’s degree program or for entry-level work in the field.
And, you can specialize in print, digital media or web development.

Combining traditional art and design fundamentals with cutting-edge technology, students
develop foundational skill sets in interactive design, video editing, computer animation,
print production and others. Students who earn an A.F.A. will be well-prepared to
transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a degree in graphic design, while students
earning an A.A.S. will be ready for entry-level jobs in graphic design. All pathways
focus on the creation of an effective portfolio that demonstrates ability as well
as artistry.
Students will:
- Be able to use formal artistic vocabulary.
- Apply the techniques and processes of discovery in studio art and design practices.
- Communicate the content, context, and process of their work.
- Demonstrate knowledge of past and present works of art from diverse methods and cultures.
- Be able to articulate a response to works in the humanities, arts and design based
upon aesthetic standards.
- Create, select, and present proficient finished work for exhibition and evaluation
purposes.
- Be prepared to sit for Adobe Creative Cloud certifications.
