Scheduling
The EXCELerator conducts online and face-to-face tutoring sessions by appointment and walk-in, if available.
You can schedule your tutoring sessions with our Academic Coaches in one of the following ways:
- Call 636-922-8444 and call our Office Assistant to schedule a tutoring session. Messages will be returned as soon as possible.
- Please stop by the Schnare Library and see us in person to schedule a tutoring session (we have snacks!)
- Schedule your in-person or virtual tutoring session online today.
- Review our Academic Coaching Session Expectations.

Academic Coaching & Tutoring Guidelines

Sessions are 45 minutes in length.

Students may schedule up to two (2) sessions per day.

Back-to-back appointments are not permitted to ensure equal access for all students.

Please bring your SCC student ID or have your SCC student ID number ready upon arrival.

Students are expected to attempt their coursework before meeting with an Academic Coach.

Academic Coaches are here to clarify concepts and provide support, but they will not complete assignments for students.

Please share your course notes with your Academic Coach to help guide the session.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least one (1) hour in advance.

Appointments are recommended. Walk-ins are provided when available.

You are welcome to wear a mask during your session. Your tutor will also wear a mask upon request.

It is recommended that you bring your own fully powered device.
Once your appointment is booked, you will connect at your scheduled time via Zoom software.
Joining Your Tutoring Session:

Find the link for your tutoring session in your SCC email.

If you are having trouble connecting to your session, check your SCC email for a message from your tutor or contact The Excelerator at 636-922-8444.
SCC has partnered with NetTutor to offer students free online tutoring for their courses. Students can click on the NetTutor link from the course menu in any of their Canvas courses to access NetTutor where they can connect with a live tutor, schedule a meeting with a tutor, drop off a question, or drop off a paper for review. When meeting with a tutor or dropping off a question or paper, always provide the details of your assignment instructions so the tutor is able to help you more effectively.

This is intended for quick questions you may have about assignments or if you needed breif help with a couple of problems.
This is not intended to replace a full, one-on-one, 45-minute tutoring session and should not be used as such.

Study Hall Slam Session
The Study Hall Slam Session at St. Charles Community College is a drop-in study event hosted by The EXCELerator to help students stay on track academically. Held in the Schnare Library, the session offers a focused, supportive environment with access to academic coaches, peer tutors, and study resources. Students can get help with assignments, prepare for exams, or develop better study habits. Fun themes, light snacks, and interactive activities like quiz games create an engaging atmosphere that encourages collaboration and academic motivation. It's a great way for students to connect, learn, and succeed together.
