SCC's welding courses provide theory, fundamentals and the skills needed to set up
and perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux
Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
Along with the welding skills, students learn about the equipment, thermal cutting
processes, fabrication, safety and health in the workplace and welding inspection.
SCC's program follows the guidelines of the American Welding Society SENSE program,
an industry-recognized standard for welding education. Along with our training, our
students have the opportunity to earn AWS Welding Certifications. Employers and students
can track these certifications on the AWS website.
Hands-on classes prepare the student for entry-level employment as a welder.
42,600 openings for welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers are projected each year,
on average, over the next decade. -bls.gov
Please contact Roxanne Finneran, the Welding Instructional Coordinator to set up an
appointment at the TCW in Wentzville, Missouri. Tour our welding lab and take some
time to talk about how SCC can help you meet your career goals. Along with the associate

done right.

and structures.
