Industry Salaries

$67K – $114K+ 

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, chemists and biochemists can earn an annual mean wage of $67,950 in the state of Missouri. Exceptional performers can earn more than $114,880 nationally.

Students may pursue either a chemistry or biochemistry pathway in this associate of science degree program.

All students will gain hands-on experience with the instrumentation, methodologies and techniques used in research and industry, including gas chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), UV and visible spectrophotometry, atomic absorbance spectrophotometry, and infrared (IR) spectrophotometry. 

Coursework for the A.S. program is the equivalent of the first four semesters of a B.A. or B.S. program in chemistry or biochemistry.

All science courses promote general education and science literacy, including a working knowledge of the scientific method and an understanding of historic and contemporary scientific theory within the context of global awareness.
