In SCC’s multimedia & web design program, you’ll develop visual, programming, and
marketing skills—everything you need to thrive in this unique field. You’ll learn
to create original graphics and dynamic, digital content that drives engagement. We’ll
teach you how to optimize a website on the front and back end to ensure a positive
user experience. And, you’ll learn to collaborate with a creative team and present
your ideas confidently to clients.

Courses in this program prepare students to sit for Adobe Creative Cloud certifications.
Students will graduate with a comprehensive foundation in multimedia, web design,
and web development. You’ll take courses in 2D and 3D graphic design, web animation,
video and sound editing, and programming. You’ll learn how to create vibrant websites,
interactive displays, and artistically powerful, multimedia projects that integrate
graphics, video, and sound. You also will learn techniques in social media marketing,
so you’ll be current with the latest trends. You’ll gain real-world experience by
collaborating with other students and industry partners on a project benefitting a
non-profit client.
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate appropriate professional level verbal and written communication during
collaborative team meetings and through documentation deliverables associated with
each phase of media and web projects.
- Solve industry-specific problems by collaborating with other students and industry
partners through the completion of a real-world media or web production project benefitting
a non-profit client.
- Analyze industry trends, technologies, and client specifications and apply them to
plans and designs in order to produce professional digital media content and quality
websites.
- Articulate the digital media content code of ethics by defining and evaluating industry
guidelines for fair use.
- Provide evidence of multimedia and web design abilities through the creation of a
digital portfolio presented to an industry professional populated advisory board.
- Demonstrate proficiency using industry-standard hardware and software for image and
video editing, motion graphics, basic 2D and 3D animation, and web development.
- Demonstrate understanding of media file formats and storage, file conversion, file
compression, and media rendering techniques.
- Implement standard client-side web scripting languages, server-side web programming
languages, and database designs, queries, and methods.
