SCC students will be prepared for rewarding careers in law enforcement and criminology, from working for the police department to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Border Patrol, Internal Revenue Service, and Secret Service. 

SCC partners with law enforcement agencies to ensure the curriculum is cutting-edge, and all faculty are experienced in the field.

Students may earn an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement or a Certificate of Achievement in Law Enforcement at SCC.  You can take courses related to crisis intervention, security systems, criminal law, alcohol and drug addiction and treatment, juvenile justice, victimology, and more.  Students may also earn an Associate of Arts with a focus area in Criminal Justice.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates growth in protective service occupations such as police and detectives (3% growth with approximately 64,500 job openings yearly), and  private detectives and investigators (6% growth with 3,800 job openings yearly). If you are interested in an education or career in protective service or law, the criminal justice program may be for you!
