Field to Table Institute
The Field to Table Institute at the Dardenne Creek Campus
The Field to Table Institute brings together culinary, agriculture and healthcare, teaching the concept of going directly from the field to the table, and the connection between farming, food, health care and quality of life. In addition to credit programs, the Field to Table Institute also offers community-based courses in food, gardening, health and sustainability.
About the facility
Established in 2019, the Field to Table Institute is a unique educational facility adjacent to the Center for Healthy Living at SCC's Dardenne Creek Campus. With funding from a $1.58 million MoExcels Workforce Initiative grant, the original building was transformed from a gymnasium into a beautiful, modern space with a test kitchen, bakery, commercial kitchen, and brewing lab. The project was a finalist for the St. Louis Business Journal’s 2021 Building St. Louis Awards. The awards celebrate outstanding regional public/private projects with budgets under $10 Million, recognizing both community impact and design.
