SCC Welcomes John D. Wiemann, House Speaker Pro Tem, as VP for Workforce and Strategic Initiatives

St. Charles Community College welcomes John D. Wiemann, Missouri House Speaker Pro Tem, as SCC Vice President for Workforce and Strategic Initiatives. Wiemann will join SCC on December 5.

“Meeting the needs of St. Charles County and our extended service area means building partnerships in the community and strengthening our workforce and community education programs,” said Barbara Kavalier, Ph.D., SCC president. “John’s experience in public service, management, sales and business development will help him to lead SCC in expanding programs that citizens in our area rely on for the jobs of today and of tomorrow.”

“I’m excited to join St. Charles Community College as the college grows workforce programing and builds a new Regional Workforce Innovation Center in western St. Charles County,” said Wiemann.  “The new campus will have such an impact on business and industry and the growth of our region.” 

Wiemann resigned his seat in the Missouri House, where he is serving as Speaker Pro Tem, the second highest ranking member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He was first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2016, 2018 and 2020 to the Missouri State Legislature. He represents a part of St. Charles County which includes the entire city of Cottleville along with a portion of O'Fallon, St. Peters, Dardenne Prairie and Weldon Spring.  In the private sector, Wiemann is president and CEO of Midwest Physician Insurance Advisors, an insurance brokerage firm that specializes in medical malpractice insurance. Wiemann has over twenty years of healthcare and insurance industry related experience working for hospitals, a physician staffing company, health insurance carrier, along with several insurance brokerage firms.
