Women's Soccer Wins Region 16 Championship, Cross Country Runner Payden Pietrusinski named Athlete of the Year
St. Charles Community College Athletics wrapped up a great season.
The Women's Soccer team finished their best season in program history, claiming the NJCAA DII Region 16 Title and were number 11 in the nation. Two were Region 16 First Team: Leah Maxvill and Campbell Slemmer. Two were Region 16 Second Team: Emily Engelhardt and Mackenzie Dueser. Tim Mosby is Coach of the Year.
Maria Fernandes was named Region 16 Player of the Year.
Men's Soccer had their best overall record, finishing as DII Region 16 regular season champions. Two were Region 16 First Team: Henrique Perestrelo and Toki Iwao.
Jermaine Mentoor was Region 16 Player of the Year
Women's Cross-Country runner Payden Pietrusinski was Region 16 DIII Athlete of the Year, finishing second overall and winning the individual championship. The Women had two top 50 finishers (Pietrusinski and Saso, 47th).
The Men's Cross Country team finished eighth in the country at the NJCAA DIII event. Sophomores Daniel Enberg and Devon Fanning, along with Freshman Zach Southard finished 47th, 49th and 50th respectively. SCC was the only team to have all their runners finish in the top 100.
