Excitement was high after the SCC Men's Soccer Team captured their first NJCAA Region 16 title in school history. The Cougars played a tough game against Heartland Community College in the district championship, but they fell short - losing 2-0.

Even though the Cougars didn't secure the automatic bid to the national tournament, all hope was not lost.

"The tournament has four at-large spots," said Tim Brix, SCC athletic director. "Given our tremendous season, our Region 16 title and our national ranking, I felt like we had a pretty good shot at still getting in the tournament."

On May 28, the NJCAA released the tournament bracket. St. Charles Community College landed an 11 seed in the 2020-2021 NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship!

The Cougars will play CCBC Essex (Maryland) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 and Prairie State (Illinois) at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 6 in the first round.
