Have you ever considered a career in court reporting?
St. Charles Community College will begin offering a non-credit program in court reporting through the Corporate & Community Development Department this fall.
The program consists of six 16-week modules. Tuition for the course is $250 per month. Students will also be required to provide their own Steno machine and Windows-based laptop.
This course prepares students for the Missouri State Certification test.
"There are no other court reporting programs currently operating in Missouri," said Scott Kearns, program specialist at SCC. "Current court reporters are aging out and retiring and, like other industries, they are struggling to find qualified candidates to fill the open positions."
The tentative start date for the course is Tuesday, Aug. 13.
