The St. Charles Community College Nursing Department will host a Disaster Day Drill on Nov. 16. Each semester, the Nursing Department hosts this day as a learning opportunity for its soon-to-be nursing graduates. This year, the college is partnering with the St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCAD) to provide an even more realistic experience.

All mock patients in the drill are volunteer faculty, staff and alumni. The drill will take place at the SCC-Dardenne Creek Campus, located in Dardenne Prairie, in the Center for Healthy Living (CHL) gym and virtual hospital.

Nursing students will practice skills they have learned, quickly assessing and prioritizing patients' injuries for triage treatment. During this drill, the SCC nursing students will be collaborating with SCAD trainees and employees on transporting the patients to the virtual hospital for additional treatment.
