The SCC Department of Marketing and Communications took home a Gold Paragon in the Folder category for the Returning Learners' folder. The department also was also awarded two Silver Paragons - Trivia Night Poster (single flier category) and That ‘80s Run (special event promotion category).
“These are the most prestigious awards for community college marketing and public relations professionals,” said Heather McDorman, vice president for enrollment and marketing services. “We're fortunate to have high-level, creative professionals here at SCC.”
The awards were announced at the annual NCMPR national conference in Portland, Ore., this March.
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges. NCMPR's primary focus is supporting its members' professional growth. A 15-member board of directors governs the 1,600-member organization. All of them are community college marketing professionals.
In addition to overseeing the college Welcome and Call Centers, SCC's Department of Marketing and Communications is responsible for advancing the college brand, including publications, graphic design, website, public relations, photography/videography and marketing.
