New Works by Michael Quintero will feature Quintero's sculpture. Quintero was born in Okinawa, Japan, and grew up in south Texas. He earned his B.F.A. from Corpus Christi State University and his M.F.A. from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Quintero has served as senior technician at Notre Dame's sculpture area, assistant professor of art at Denison University and visiting professor of art at Indian University-South Bend. He is now associate professor of art at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley.
The SCC Invitational will include works by regional artists Jay Alan Babcock, Dave Coleman, Kathy Ann Duffin, David Ottinger and Renee Raub-Ayers.
Both exhibitions run from Aug. 24-Sept. 18. The opening reception is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Parking for patrons is free in the campus Blue and Yellow lots.
