Once again featured at RUN. LIVE. LEARN. will be the popular 10K Race (6.2 miles), 5K Race (3.1 miles) and Fun Run. The new start/finish line, which has been moved in the front of the SCC Student Center in the Green Parking Lot, will allow the 5K and 10K races to have the same start.  Runners in both races will run together for the first mile and a half on the campus roads before 10K participants leave the campus to run through the streets of Cottleville.

To add an educational twist to the event, one runner will win a $1,000 scholarship to SCC.  Entrants in the 5K and 10K races (ages 18 and older) will be automatically entered into a drawing for the scholarship.  “The organizing committee is excited to promote the value of higher education by offering the $1,000 scholarship,” said Heather McDorman, vice president for marketing and communications and co-chair of the event. “We promise lots of fun ways for our runners and guests to celebrate fitness and education this year.”

The 10K and 5K races begin at 7:30 a.m., and the 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 9:15 a.m. near the entrances to the Red and Green parking lots on campus. Each event will feature age group awards. All individual fun run finishers will receive diplomas.

The entry fee for the Fun Run is $15; late registration after April 19 is $20, including race-day registration.  Entry for the 10K and 5K races is $20; late registration after April 19 is $25, including race-day registration.  The entry fee includes a dry-tec T-shirt, refreshments and entries into prize basket drawings.  Participants may register online, by mail or in person for one of the run events. The Health and Wellness Expo is free and open to the public from 8-11 a.m. in the Student Center, including entry to more than 40 exhibits with health and wellness information, screenings, product samples and refreshments. Participants will have a chance to test their fitness, learn how to take care of mind and body, receive health and safety tips and get in shape. There will also be drawings for several prize baskets.
