“We are very excited to have the opportunity to host an SCC-wide book club as the Spring 2013 semester begins,” said Julia Wilbers, SCC reference librarian.

Meetings will occur in the Student Center Private Dining Room at noon on each of the dates listed below.

Jan. 30

The kick-off meeting will include a book swap. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite book to swap with other avid readers. There will also be introductory discussion to the February book selection.

Feb. 27

Attendees will discuss “Salvage the Bones” by Jesmyn Ward.

April 3

Attendees will discuss “Half the Sky” by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.

May 1

Attendees will discuss “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing for a Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight. The drawing will take place on May 1 at the final book club meeting. The law firm Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale, donated the Nook.

“We're excited to get some unique conversations started with our SCC community about three titles that we think will spark a lot of discussion,” said Wilbers. “We can't wait for the Jan. 30 kick-off!”
