McKee leads the college's development office, the SCC Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds for scholarships and academic programs. She works collaboratively with its 30-member board of volunteer community leaders. McKee has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lindenwood University and is pursuing an MBA from Webster University. She's a board member for Enterprise Bank and Trust, a member of the St. Charles Noon Day Rotary and serves on both the Education Committee and Quality of Place Committee for the St. Charles County EDC/Partners for Progress.

McKee was one of three Emerging Young Professionals in Leadership named, a new category in this year's 25th anniversary celebration of the Athena Leadership Foundation. Other Young Professional honorees included Kristin Williams, executive director of the St. Charles City County Library Foundation, and Gretchen Jameson, owner/president of purePR.

The 2012 Athena Leadership Award recipient was Jill Skyles, vice president for Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Health Center, and the 2012 Corporate Leader, another new category, was Bommarito Automotive Group.
