SCC Jazz Camp Now Enrolling for Summer

The SCC Performing Arts Department and the Jim Widner Big Band have combined their efforts to bring you some of the top jazz educators and performers in the country.

Middle school, high school and college students are invited to attend the SCC Jazz Camp June 13-17. This big band camp will help young and growing artists learn more about jazz style, improvisation and performance. The camp is open to students with at least one year of study on their instrument.

The week will include opportunities to work with professional musicians in a variety of settings such as:

• Master Class
• Ear Training Classes
• Improvisation Classes
• Sectionals
• Big Band Rehearsals
• Group Listening

A packet with additional instructions and scheduling will be electronically sent prior to the beginning of the camp. Students will need to bring their own instruments including amps and cymbals (no drums).

The tuition fee is $399, and an Early Bird rate of $349 will be offered through April 1.
