Students in SCC’s MegaTech program modified toys using skills they learned in class, and delivered the toys to St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center this month for children in physical therapy.

These are Switched Adaptive Toys, modified for children with disabilities. Students made buttons and parts on a 3D printer, and used skills they learned in electronics, soldering and problem solving, to make changes to popular toys so all kids can enjoy them.

The MegaTech program is a dual enrollment program in partnership with the Wentzville School District that introduces high school students to mechanics, electronics, robotics, and manufacturing.

SCC Instructional Coordinators Jesse Anderson and Kristin Plucinski, along with Sr. Program Coordinator Pat Penning, worked with the students during the semester.
