The St. Charles Community College Foundation invites friends, alumni and family members to help to support scholarships and academic enhancements during the virtual “Be Transformed” Gala & Auction, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 10.
The on-screen video event and bidding will take place at www.bidpal.net/sccgala. The event will also be streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Participants are encouraged to host watch parties while they watch and bid online. Party boxes and dinners-to-go are available for purchase to help participants celebrate at home.
For those looking to just bid on auction items, registration is free. The online auction will open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, and will close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.
Scott Liebel, SCC Foundation Board president and long-time supporter, is the event chair. Mike Elam will emcee.
“We are so pleased with the way our sponsors and other supporters have stepped up to help this year,” said Liebel. “It has been a challenging year for us all. With the community's support, we have been able to make an impact in the lives of our students, faculty and staff during this unprecedented time.”
Funds raised from the “Be Transformed” Gala & Auction will help support students through scholarships, emergency funding and more. The proceeds will also help support faculty in the classroom and improvements on campus.
Just as beautiful butterflies are transformed, event organizers of the Be Transformed Gala and Auction hope participants will experience what it feels like to “be transformed” when they help others.
