St. Charles Community College denounces the acts of discrimination and violence directed against Asian, Asian-American and Pacific-Islander-Americans, which have taken place over many months, and most recently highlighted in the news. The leadership at SCC unequivocally condemns these actions and their perpetrators and stands in solidarity and support of our Asian students, faculty, staff and community members.
It is also important to note that many of those who have recently experienced hate and violence, have been women. As our communities celebrate Women's History Month, it's clear the country still has far to go to support all women with respect and equality.
At SCC, diversity, equity and inclusion are central to our values. We will continue to nurture and support the academic goals and human rights of our students and employees, especially those who are part of underrepresented populations. We are committed to providing a safe place for all who want to pursue their education and professional careers.
St. Charles Community College pledges to continue our work to lift up all voices against racism so that meaningful change takes root and leads to a more equitable and inclusive community for all.
