Writer Meagan Cass will give a public reading and question-and-answer session at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Student Center private dining room. This reading is part of the 2019 Missouri Writers Series, sponsored and underwritten by the Missouri Humanities Council.
Cass's first full-length collection, ActivAmerica, won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in short fiction and was published by UNT Press in 2017. She is author of the book Range of Motion (Magic Helicopter Press) and her stories have appeared in Hayden's Ferry Review, The Pinch, DIAGRAM, Joyland, Puerto del Sol and more. Her flash fiction was chosen for the Wigleaf Top 50 Flash Fictions of 2012 and for SmokeLong Quarterly's The Best of the First Ten Years anthology. She is the founder of the Shelterbelt Reading Series at the University of Illinois Springfield, where she teaches, and she is assistant editor and board member for Sundress Publications.
