Young People's Theatre will hold open auditions for The Nutcracker at noon on Sunday, Aug. 20, in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater on the St. Charles Community College campus. The campus is located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Auditions are open for youths ages 8 to 18 and will consist of readings from the script, a dance combination which will be taught and basic movement. Students auditioning should bring dance shoes (jazz, ballet, tap or all) and wear clothes in which they can dance comfortably. They must also be accompanied by an adult. To be cast, students must either have had Introductory Theatre Workshop I or concurrently enroll in that class in addition to being in the production.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 16; and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, and Sunday, Dec. 17. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at stchastickets.com or by calling 636-922-8233.
