St. Charles Community College Women's Soccer recorded a team grade point average (GPA) of over 3.0 for the second semester in a row, with an overall team GPA of 3.16 this past spring.
Three of the players earned a perfect 4.0.
“Our goal as a team was to earn an overall GPA of 3.0 so to exceed that is great,” said Josh Tyler, SCC women's head soccer coach. “Our athletic advisors at SCC do a wonderful job helping our athletes and played a vital role in the classroom success of the team.”
In most cases, athletes of an NJCAA school must maintain a 2.00 or higher GPA to maintain their eligibility. GPA and credit hour requirements are vary based on to the number of full-time terms a student has completed.
“Being an athlete is much more than just playing a sport,” Tyler said. “At SCC, we really stress the importance of doing everything to the best of your ability - on the field and in the classroom.”
