This is a campus-wide event intended to showcase the worldwide need for shoes among the impoverished countries. This event will demonstrate the impact of shoes on health, education and self-esteem, and promote taking action to change the issue.

Video screening and a poster display discussing the impact of being shoeless will be available all day in the lounge of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building and atrium on the Student Center.

There will be various shoeless activities in the Campus Plaza from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Students can participate in a short, shoeless walk around campus to raise awareness for the issue and experience the challenge of being without shoes firsthand.

“This event will demonstrate the impact of shoes on health, education and self-esteem,” said Grace Moser, assistant professor at SCC. “It will also show students how they can take action to help change the issue.”
