“Having an SCC-wide book club promotes reading, unique conversations and camaraderie on campus,” said Mandi Smith, SCC student activities coordinator. “It's been such a positive experience so far. We really have created a little book loving community, and I'm excited to watch it grow.”
Meetings will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center Information Commons at the dates listed below unless otherwise noted. There will be refreshments and giveaways at each meeting.
Wednesday, Jan. 29
This kick-off meeting will consist of an introductory discussion about the February
book selection, “Fight Club."
Tuesday, Feb. 25
To introduce February's book discussion, a “Fight Club” panel discussion and film
will be shown at 6:30 p.m. in the SSB Auditorium.
Wednesday, Feb. 26
Attendees will discuss “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk.
Wednesday, March 26
Attendees will discuss “Divergent” by Veronica Roth.
Wednesday, April 30
Attendees will discuss “Blankets” by Craig Thompson.
