Students who complete the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at SCC are in high demand. The U.S. Labor Department reported above-average growth rates in CNA jobs at both long-term care facilities and hospitals.

Students can become certified through the SCC CNA program starting any time of year - with day and evening sections available - or enroll in the accelerated eight-week program starting in January. There is currently no wait list for the program.

“Our instructors have extensive real-world experience that they bring to the classroom,” said Sue Propper, health occupations coordinator at SCC. “And our health occupations courses' tuition is very competitive to other schools in the area.”

SCC also offers a Pharmacy Technician program and Phlebotomy hybrid course.

“Pharmacy Technicians are needed in hospitals and retail and pharmaceutical companies to provide medications to individuals healthcare institutions,” said Propper. “And major corporations are courting our current phlebotomy students. We are very excited about the potential for jobs in the area.”
