Open auditions are for children ages 8-18 in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville. A parent or guardian must be present with their child during the audition process.
Each student will be taught a dance and need to bring tap or jazz shoes. Auditions will consist of solo, dance and readings. Students should be prepared to use many different character voices. Each student will need to prepare 16-32 measures or a one-minute cutting of a Broadway-repertoire song and bring an accompaniment CD or a song from the electronic device. No a cappella songs or piano sheet music allowed. Students need to be able to sing on stage by themselves.
“Shrek” will be performed in the theater of the Fine Arts Building at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, March 21-22 and 28-29, and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, March 22-23, and Saturday, March 29.
SCC's Young People's Theatre provides quality family theater productions through the college's Corporate & Community Division. YPT offers children and young adults ages 8-19 the opportunity to learn all aspects of theater production through a variety of classes and participation in live theater productions.
