The final score was 2-1. Stephen Rozycki, a freshman midfielder, and Valmiro Gonzalez, a freshman forward, scored goals for the Cougars.
As a member of the MCCAC Conference, the Cougars went undefeated in conference games, beating Jefferson College 2-1, St. Louis Community College 6-0 and East Central 2-1.
The Cougars have had a strong showing so far this season with 10 wins, three losses and one tie.
There are two away games left for the Cougars before the Region XVI Tournament that takes place on Oct. 26. The men will face Wentworth Military Academy on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Greenville College on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
“The team has won five straight games, and recorded six wins and a tie in the last seven games,” said Thomas Kearns, men's head soccer coach at SCC. “We are just heating up, and I look forward to what is ahead of us this season.”
Men's soccer is not the only team on campus with a winning record. The women's soccer team currently has 10 wins and four losses, with six games left in the regular season.
