“This class is a treat for both the parents and their kids,” said Amy Fitzwilliam, SCC project coordinator for Corporate and Community Development. “The parents can enjoy a night off while the kids learn a healthy way to deal with stress by learning yoga.”

Students will learn how to handle stress in a healthy way, build self-confidence and unwind after a long day at school. This class will allow teens to take a step back from daily life and learn to relax. Students will practice challenging sequences, breathing techniques, balancing postures, relaxation, self-awareness and positivity.

Tricia Maniaci, who has studied yoga for 15 years, will teach the class. She also has a yoga instructor certification.

The class will be offered from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov.6-Dec. 11, for a cost of $64.
