The team competed against undergraduate teams from both four-year colleges and other
community colleges, defeating Princeton University, Cornell University, Truman State
University, the University of Illinois, the University of Ottawa, the University of
Wisconsin and Arizona State University in the process. The team went 7-6, finishing
12th overall. SCC student Charles Hang, of St. Charles, was the third top scoring
individual player.
In February, SCC's Quiz Bowl Team took first place in the NAQT 2010 Community College
Championship Tournament at Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., which qualified them
to enter the April tournament.
In addition to Hang, team members included SCC students Mike Janoski, of Cottleville,
Jared Lund, of Cottleville, and Jeremy Roznowski, of St. Peters. Quiz bowl is a fast-paced
game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of

and popular culture.
“We're so proud of the students,” said Wanda Long, professor of math and Quiz Bowl
Team advisor. “Quiz Bowl Team is a new SCC club this year, and they are off to a great
start.”
