The Distinguished Alumni Award program began in 2006. Last year's award went to Jennifer White, assistant principal at Bernard J. Dubray Middle School in the Fort Zumwalt District.  White's passion for helping young people succeed led to her education in elementary education.  While teaching and attending graduate school, she learned how administrators, as well as teachers, make a positive impact on individual students, so she fine-tuned her dream to become an administrator.

Other past recipients include Terri Ingracia, director of nursing at St. Peters Manor (2008); Dianna Graveman, an author and former teacher (2007); and Karen Sieve, Safe Place manager at Youth in Need (2006).

“The past winners are perfect examples of individuals who began their professional journeys at St. Charles Community College, pursued additional education, and moved into careers that have enabled them to become exceptional models of commitment, lifelong learning, and service to the community,” said Kasey McKee, executive director of foundation and alumni relations.

Any individual who has attended SCC is eligible to be nominated for the award, regardless of the length of their enrollment. Nomination forms are due to the Foundation Office in Room 1119 of the Administration Building on the SCC campus by Friday, March 31.  Forms are available at www.stchas.edu/foundation, or by contacting Jessica O'Laughlin at 636-922-8437.
