Dennis Northcott, Missouri History Museum staff member and associate archivist at the Library and Research Center, will give a presentation on the genealogical treasures available for use at the Missouri History Museum Library and Research Center.
Other topics covered in the workshop will include how to research Union Civil War ancestors, using company employee and trade magazines as a genealogical resource and how to find a record of death using a variety of sources.
“The Family History Workshop is a great resource for those wanting to research their ancestors,” said Joan Koechig, SCC adjunct professor of criminal justice and a member of the St. Charles County Historical Society.
The workshop will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by four presentations, lunch and finally a wrap-up discussion at 2:45 p.m.
Registration is $15 for SCC students, $20 for society members and SCC faculty/staff and $25 for the general public. A catered lunch will be available for an additional cost of $7.50 during the lunch break.
