Published: 04/26/2017

EDC Business and Community Partners of St. Charles County President and CEO Greg Prestemon will be the keynote speaker at the 29th annual St. Charles Community College commencement exercises Saturday, May 13. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium of the College Center on the SCC campus.

“We are honored to have Mr. Prestemon speak to our graduates at their commencement,” said Barbara Kavalier, Ph.D., SCC president. “His role in our community’s startup assistance, small business finance and business attraction and retention is truly inspirational.”

Prestemon joined the Economic Development Center in April 1993. He oversees business incubation, small business finance, and marketing programs, all of which have received regional, state and national recognition in addition to helping local businesses grow.

In 2014, the EDC became an Accredited Economic Development Organization, one of 40 in North America, a unique honor among economic development groups.

Prior to the EDC, Greg was executive director of the Grinnell 2000 Foundation, where he directed a multi-community development program. Previous to that, he worked as a professional economic developer in upstate New York. He holds a master’s degree in economic development with a concentration in development finance from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree with distinction in political science from Iowa State University.

Greg lives in O’Fallon with his wife Mary.
