SCC Young People's Theatre to Hold Open Auditions for "Scrooge, the Stingiest Man in Town"

Published: 09/21/2009

“Scrooge, the Stingiest Man in Town,” a retelling of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge.  Audiences will travel through time with the ghosts of Past, Present, and Future to see Scrooge transform from a cruel, unpleasant man to a warm and loving person.

Auditions are open to actors ages 8-18, and will consist of cold readings and a dance combination, which will be taught that day. In addition, a song is necessary for those who wish to be considered for a principal solo role. Please bring sheet music or CD accompaniment from a Broadway show. A parent or guardian must be present during the audition process.

“Scrooge, the Stingiest Man in Town” will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 18-19, and at 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday,
Dec. 19-20, in the theater.

SCC's Young People's Theatre offers children and young adults ages 8-18 the opportunity to learn all aspects of theater production through a variety of classes and participation in live theater productions.
