Published: 10/19/2009

The videos are an interactive learning tool available to students as well as community members.  The innovative video series outlines essential skills in an engaging, fast-paced presentation that clearly demonstrates the how and why of key procedures.

“The information on the videos is especially helpful for individuals who are preparing for their State Certified Nurse Assistant exam,” said Mary Stassi, health occupations coordinator at SCC.

This learning resource is available to SCC students and the general public.  The video series corresponds with the Basic Nurse Assisting texbook, which is available in the campus bookstore and in the SCC library.

Topics covered in the videos include bathing, bedmaking, heat and cold applications, personal hygiene and grooming, body mechanics and exercise, assisting with elimination, nutrition and fluids, skin and wound care, vital signs, infection control and safety measures, specimen collection, and surgical care.
