Planning to Transfer to SCC From Another Institution?

We're excited that you are joining us! Please know, meeting with an Academic Advisor is important to make sure you are aware of how all of your credits transferred into SCC and plan your next steps. We've put together a list to make the transfer process as smooth as possible for you.

Step 1: Apply for Admissions – complete the SCC Admission Application.

Step 2: Login to your MySCC Portal using your SCC email address and password – these credentials will be sent to you automatically within 1 business day after you apply to SCC and will be used to access your SCC Portal, Email and Canvas. Remember, the SCC Portal>SCC Connection is where you can register for classes, see your financial aid, view your grades, etc.). You can also find campus announcements, news and events in the portal. Learn More.

If you have issues signing in, please contact the IT Service Desk at 636-922-8555 or servicedesk@stchas.edu.

Step 3: Submit Transcripts – Request any College/University transcript(s) be sent to enrollment@stchas.edu. If you have earned less than 12 college credit hours, you will also need to supply your High School transcript (send to the same address as above).

Request an Evaluation of your Transfer Credits (if you have college transfer credits from another institution) Transcripts sent to SCC will not be automatically reviewed unless the student has requested in writing that a review be made. Sign into your SCC Portal>Quick Links>eForms>Request for Evaluation of Transfer Credit - complete the required information and click submit. You will receive an email in your SCC email account with instructions on how to view the courses in your DEGREE AUDIT, to see how they were accepted. Please allow two weeks for an evaluation from the time the transcripts are received at SCC.

Step 4: Prepare to meet with your Academic Advisor.  Fill out the Advising Checklist. By answering these questions before your meeting, you will be most prepared to work with an Academic Advisor to create your road-map to success. Also, write down any other questions you may have for the Advisor. Review the available course schedule and add courses to your SCC Student Planning page. Learn how by watching this quick tutorial.

Step 5: Meet with SCC Academic Advisor. Visit SCC Main [1-SCM], 1200 suite to meet with an academic advisor if you have any questions regarding your academic path and/or registering for classes. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor. More information about hours and advisor availability can be found on their webpage at stchas.edu/advising

Step 6: Arrange for Payment.

Step 7: Purchase materials needed for each course at the Campus Store.

Planning to Transfer Somewhere After SCC?

Two years at SCC, two years at a four-year college or university. That's smart. No, it's brilliant – considering the tuition and fees you'd pay to a college or university for all four years. You can be confident your SCC credits will be accepted at hundreds of four-year institutions.

You may even have a jump on other students when you get to the 4-year institution – students who spend their first two years at SCC are often better prepared for their junior year than non-transfer students.

Please feel free to ask for assistance from Academic Advisors (advising@stchas.edu). It is also important that you reach out to the institution you are hoping to transfer to for guidance and support!
