Women’s Soccer Team Finishes in Elite Eight in National Tournament

The SCC Women’s Soccer Team made college history in this fall 2023 season. They made it all the way to the NJCAA Division 2 National Championship in Tucson, where they won one and lost one. While they did not advance to the final round, they finished their season 16-2-0, earning the titles of MCCAC Conference Champions, Region 16 Champions, Central District Champions, and were in the Elite Eight at Nationals.

The Cougars also had a 10-game winning streak at the end of the season and stayed nationally-ranked all season.

Campbell Slemmer, Maria Fernandes, and Charlize Williams received All Region recognition. Slemmer was named to the All-National Tournament Team.

Tim Mosby was named Region 16 Coach of the Year.
