SCC hosted the Biotech Summer Institute (BSI) on June 9–10 for high school teachers
representing eight local school districts. Biology Professor Monica Hall-Woods and
Biology Academic Program Coordinator Michael Donio led the interactive workshop, providing
educators with training, curriculum resources, equipment, and coaching support to
strengthen science programs in their schools.
Through BSI, high school teachers gained the tools needed to introduce students to
biotechnology concepts and careers, creating pathways to high-demand opportunities.
