St. Charles Community College's Center Stage Theatre will present Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike Nov. 16-20, in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater on the SCC campus.
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 16-19; 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Tickets are free to SCC students with ID, or $8 general admission and $6 seniors, veterans and students. The campus is located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia live a quiet life in the Pennsylvania farmhouse where they grew up, but their peace is disturbed when their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in unannounced with her new boy toy, Spike. Also on the scene are a sassy cleaning woman who can predict the future and a lovely young aspiring actress. A weekend of rivalry, regret and raucousness begins, eventually leading to threats to sell the family home. In its own deliciously madcap way, this Tony-award winning play offers some keen insights into the challenges and agonies of 21st century life.
The cast includes Paul James of Weldon Spring, Judy Yordon of Florissant, Lauren Cole of O'Fallon, Tricia Wallace of St. Charles, Jake Baumgartner of St. Peters and Becky Pisarek of Wentzville.
