Director Lynne Snyder will hold acting auditions at 7 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 10-11, in Room 108 of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater on the SCC campus in Cottleville. Center Stage Theatre invites SCC students and community residents to audition. Actors and actresses must be able to play several roles. Those who have the ability to speak in a British, Scottish and/or German accent, obtain improvisational skills and/or can provide comic relief are encouraged to audition. A script is on reserve in the SCC library. Monologues are encouraged but not required.
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python, and you have “The 39 Steps,” a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. This Tony Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a cast of four actors), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers, and some good old-fashioned romance. It's a riotous blend of virtuoso performances and inventive stagecraft.
“The 39 Steps” will be performed in the theater of the Fine Arts Building Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 16-20.
