What is Clean Missouri?
Why did Missourians vote for it?
Why are some legislators opposed to it?
In November of 2018, Missourians voted overwhelmingly for “Clean Missouri”, a constitutional amendment.  The goal was to “clean up” Missouri politics, by limiting the power of lobbyists, reducing campaign contributions and creating a new redistricting process for state legislative seats.
In 2020, Republicans in the Missouri State Legislature have proposed to undo many of the changes, especially with regards to redistricting.
This panel will discuss what Clean Missouri promised and why some legislators want to change it.  We have confirmed that the League of Women Voters will sit on the panel, and have asked other groups (currently reaching out to Republican members of the legislature to ask for someone to sit on the panel).
