The SCC Employee Fitness Program is now enrolling for the fall semester. Staff and faculty are eligible to enroll in credit and non-credit fitness classes for free. To enroll, email Marybeth Mason with the following information: Name, office room number, phone extension, employee clock number, home address and phone number, date of birth, and the titles, dates and meeting times of the classes you want to take.

Check out the daily photo documentary of the college, from the perspectives of 26 SCC employees from various departments on campus. Want to volunteer at the MO’ Cowbell Half Marathon and 5K on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in St. Charles? You may register to volunteer online. The run is an initiative of the St. Charles County Partners for Progress, of which SCC is a partner.

SCC is an approved charity in the Schnucks Escrip program, which means if you show an Escrip card at checkout, Schnucks will donate a portion of your sale to the SCC Foundation. Signing up for a card is free and doesn’t cost anything to use. To receive and activate an Escrip card, email Tara Cochran. If you already have one, just remember to have Schnucks swipe it while purchasing groceries. In 2011, thanks to all the Escrip program supporters, the SCC Foundation received an additional $1,019.87 to award in scholarships and grants.

SCC Friends & Alumni’s next Leadership & Strategy Speaker Series presentation is from 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the St. Charles Convention Center. The presentation, “Middle Man Leadership: How to Lead From Any Position in Any Organization,” by Chris Robinson, certified John Maxwell speaker, coach and trainer, is free and open to the public and includes a continental breakfast. Pre-registration is required online at stchas.edu/speakerseries.

The Transform Art Exhibition will be on display from Oct. 1-Nov. 2 in the FAB gallery. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, contact Christine Holtz.

The SCC Transfer and College Majors Fair will be from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the CC Gym. More than 50 majors and 25 Missouri colleges will be represented at the fair. SCC Center Stage Theatre will present “Crimes of the Heart” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 3-4, at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, in the FAB theater. The SCC Bookstore will celebrate "National Student Day" from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Café/Bookstore. Activities planned include visits from Scooter McCougar, a balloon drop, refreshments, special offers, door prizes and raffles throughout the day. SCC Idol, SCC's own version of "American Idol" will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the SSB Auditorium. Tickets are $5 general admission, free for SCC students with ID. Tickets will be on sale at the door the night of the event. Cash only. Proceeds will go toward multicultural and diversity programming at SCC. Contact Mandi Smith at x8469 for more information.

The Employee Sponsored Program (ESP) will host SCC Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the SSB Auditorium. Cost is $25 per person, or $200 per table of up to eight people, and includes popcorn and beverages. Deadline to register is Wednesday, Oct. 10.
