Council formed to promote alumni connection, involvement
In recent months St. Charles Community College has found more ways to connect with its alumni.
“It’s important to us that we be aware of the great things our alumni are doing,” said Lance Swearengin, SCC alum and the college’s alumni coordinator.
After all, in more than 20 years of service to St. Charles County, SCC has helped tens of thousands
of students succeed academically and has seen them give back to the community in which they work
and live.
Already, Swearengin and a growing team of alumni
have formed the SCC Alumni Council, an organization
with its future members in mind. As it matures, the
Alumni Council will offer substantial benefits to
its members.
Swearengin graduated from SCC in 1992. He was
the president of the Student Senate and was involved
with many student and community activities during
his two years at SCC. Lance transferred from SCC to
Auburn University to complete a bachelor’s degree and
has recently served as the president of the St. Louis
Auburn Alumni Club.
“We look forward to the experience he brings
to the plate,” said Edie Kirk, associate vice president
for the SCC Foundation amunity a great place to live
and raise a family. Investing in and keeping up
the connection is important to the continuing success
of the college.” |
