Basic Life Support
(NRS 314)
The Basic Life Support (BSL) for Healthcare Providers Course covers core materials including adult and pediatric CPR, including two-rescuer scenarios and the use of the bag/mask technique, relief of choking and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course is intended for the healthcare provider who has not previously taken a CPR course and who must verify successful completion of a CPR course. Students must participate, practice and successfully complete a skills evaluation and a written examination to complete this course.

- Part 1: General Concepts
- Part 2: CPR for Adults
- Part 3: CPR for Children (1 year to puberty age)
- Part 4: CPR Adult and Child Bag-Mask Technique and Rescue
Breathing
- Part 5: Two-Rescuer CPR for Adults and Children
- Part 6: Automated External Defibrillator
- Part 7: CPR for Infants
- Part 8: Relief for Choking
- Part 9: Special Consideration
- Part 10: The Big Picture
Course Requirements:
Students must participate, practice and successfully complete
all lessons to receive a completion card.
Fees for this course are non-refundable.

All written materials are provided for use during the class; no textbook purchase is required. The textbook is available in the library for students who wish to review the material prior to class.
