ART-101-T1/T2 Art Appreciation

Summer 2013

Dear ART 101-T1/T2 Telecourse Student:

Welcome to St. Charles Community College and the telecourse, “Art of the Western World.” This telecourse is an introduction to art from prehistoric to present. My name is Tim Hahn, and I am the instructor.

The class will no longer be broadcasted. You will need to check out the DVDs for the class from the library circulation desk. You must show your student ID to check out materials. You may check out the DVDs one week before class starts or on the day that you attend your orientation.

Assignments will consist of video programs, text readings, mail-in quizzes, mid-term and final exam. A museum visit and paper are also required. There will be an orientation for this class where class materials will be distributed and questions about the class will be addressed. If you have questions after reviewing the materials, please contact me. Below are the dates for the class. These are firm and there will be no substitutions. Please schedule your time accordingly.

Although the orientation is not mandatory, it is highly recommended due to the nature of this class.  If you have taken a distance learning class and don't feel you need to attend the orientation, you can pick up your packet for the class at the circulation desk the day after the orientation in the library.  

This class will not be using Moodle.

• 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 – SC 205/206

Finals – Choose one to attend:

• 7 p.m. Monday, July 22 – SC 205/206
• 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 – SC 205/206

Your textbook is available at the bookstore. The student telecourse manual will be given to you at the orientation. Good luck this semester!

• Students may now receive their telecourse books through the mail. Call the bookstore at 636-922-8448 to place your order. There is an additional shipping charge of $5 per telecourse. Students may use VISA, Mastercard or Discover as methods of payments. Items will be shipped UPS.
• Be sure you receive the telecourse book for your class. On-campus classes may have different books.
• Call the SCC Bookstore at 636-922-8448 to verify hours between terms.
