Shirley Nachtrieb

Artist and Continuing Education Art Instructor

Shirley Nachtrieb is a graduate of Fontbonne College. She has been a freelance artist and teacher for more than 30 years. Nachtrieb is a signature member of the Society of Layerists in Multimedia, St. Louis Watercolor Society, the International Society of Experimental Artists and the Missouri Watercolor Society. She paints and teaches throughout Missouri and other states. Her painting mediums include watercolor, pastel, acrylics, mixed media, fiber and homemade books.

Nachtrieb travels all over Missouri and other states teaching art and showing her artwork. “I love going to different venues and workshops because I’m not stuck in one place,” said Nachtrieb. “Being able to move around from place to place gives me motivation for my art; it makes life more interesting.” Her work will be represented in Nita Leland’s new book, New Creative Collage Techniques. It was released in September 2011. Artists can order it now at The North Light Shop.

Shirley was recently awarded first-place in the Best of Missouri Hands 2011 exhibition for her her watercolor "Journey of Souls."
